A new hexagonally mesostructured material , constructed from PW 11 O 39 7− lacunary Keggin anions and surfactant micelles, is reported. The Figure is a schematic representation of the proposed superstructure. The two kinds of hatched circles both represent the anion, the circles with a line attached the surfactant. This type of material is expected to have novel applications in catalysis, electrochemistry, and host–guest chemistry.
