Oriented thin films based on a molecular organic radical , p ‐nitrophenyl nitroxyl nitroxide ( p ‐NPNN), are reported. The films are shown to have good optical quality and display two different morphologies, depending on whether they are grown from a (β+α)‐phase (see Figure) or a γ‐phase precursor. Applications are foreseen in magneto‐optics.
