Experimental data concerning evolution of diffusion field around KDP single crystals growing in gel were compared with simulation based on the one‐dimensional diffusion model. In the model the effect of rapid decrease of diffusion coefficient for supersaturated solutions was taken into consideration. On this basis the linear kinetic coefficient for KDP crystal growing in gel was estimated. The obtained value is significantly lower than for solution growth.
