An original algorithm for the determination of the orientation distribution function from a set of pole figures is proposed. The algorithm was tested using standard distribution functions for texture presentation and analysis. Its results were compared with those obtained using the WIMV method (PopLA package) of texture analysis. An example of the application of the algorithm to the study of texture heterogeneity is also presented. All the obtained results show that the method works correctly. The authors offer a free access to the source code of the present version of the program.
