The possibility of long‐range magnetic ordering stabilization by magnetoelastic coupling is investigated within the two‐dimensional XY model. An estimation of the Curie temperature is obtained and the comparison of the obtained results with corresponding results for the two‐dimensional Heisenberg model is carried out.
