Thin film magnetic systems have recently attracted much attention of experimental and computational physicists. In the present paper magnetic, optical and magneto‐optical properties of a free standing Fe‐monolayer are studied using the full‐potential linearized‐augmented‐plane wave method (FLAPW) within the local spin‐density approximation (LSDA).
