We report results on ac and dc conductivities, magnetoresistance, hopping thermopower and X‐ray diffraction measurements in a‐GaSb. Parameters of localized states are determined which allow one to check quantitatively the theoretical predictions for Mott's variable range hopping transport. The existing theory is found to describe adequately the low temperature dc conductivity and hopping thermopower; however, high temperature thermopower and ac conductivity show appreciable deviations from the theoretical predictions.
