We demonstrate that the use of the dynamic memory effect combined with vortex pinning induced by Bitter decorations allows the study of nucleation and propagation of vortex structures. It is shown that despite its low critical currents the static vortex structure in NbSe 2 has an intrinsic granular topology. On the other hand the BSCCO crystals seem to be excellent candidates to examine the behavior of recent theories where the existence of a Bragg glass is predicted.
