Abstract We study dimensionality effects on the hot electron photoluminescence (HPL) in multiple quantum wells (MQWs) and superlattices (SLs). Using the technique of HPL we demonstrate that the reduction of the semiconductor dimensionality leads to several effects, such as a significant modification of the electron–phonon interaction, the observation of L‐valley confinement, and variations of the HPL polarization with energy and magnetic field.
