Using Voigt‐Reuss‐Hill averages, we have calculated the elastic constants and phonon deformation potentials of polycrystalline diamond films exhibiting texture along an arbitrary direction. The results are plotted for all directions in the plane (11‐0). The effects on the Raman‐active phonon frequency are discussed.
