We discuss a novel feature in asymmetrical rectangular triple‐barrier structures with a normal or a deep well in which unity‐resonance tunneling can occur at two independent desired energy levels simultaneously: One resonance level comes from mainly the left‐hand well and the other from the right‐hand well. This feature that two independent resonance levels can be obtained simultaneously is not realized in double‐barrier structures: so far the two resonance level selections have been reported only in symmetrical rectangular quadruple‐barrier structures. The study has been performed by taking into account the mass difference between well and barrier layers. The result may be useful in designing resonant tunneling devices.
