We present the results and analysis of magnetooptical measurements performed at LHe temperatures on thin n‐CdTe layers doped with Indium or Iodine, grown on an undoped CdTe buffer and a semiinsulating GaAs substrate. We show the possibility of metastable population of shallow donor centers in undoped CdTe. We report the difference in chemical shifts of different species. The dependence of the shape of the obtained spectra on the location of donor centers relative to the interface is discussed. The analysis of the temperature and voltage dependence of the shape of spectra shows that non‐Gaussian shape of the peaks should be considered.
