The two‐sublattices random energy model (REM) with antiferromagnetic interactions is solved, its phase diagram and magnetic properties being worked out. Paramagnetic, antiferromagnetic, spin glass, and mixed spin glass–antiferromagnetic phases are obtained. The total magnetization as a function of temperature and external field exhibits a peculiar behaviour in qualitative agreement with recent experimental results.
