Conductive polyaniline, polyemeraldine green, was synthesized in a water soluble form by an in situ method, using surfactants with strong acid functionalities as protonating agents. The clear green solution of conducting polyaniline, polyemeraldine green, can be diluted to any extent and stored. Thin and thick films can be easily processed from this solution by spin coating and solvent casting methods.
