Surprising stability toward reductive elimination of diphenylsilane is exhibited by [(C 5 Me 5 )Co(SiHPh 2 ) 2 (H) 2 ] ( 1 ), which is a rare example of an organocobalt complex in the +5 oxidation state. This stability likely also accounts for its inactivity as a hydrosilylation catalyst.
