A selective Cs + ionophore : a lipophilic isoguanosine nucleoside 1 coordinates to cesium ions to give the complex ( 1 ) 10 ⋅Cs + , in which two hydrogen‐bonded pentamers sandwich the Cs + ion (see picture). Evidence from both X‐ray and solution studies confirms the above composition.
