A molecular Russian doll describes the inclusion complex [(M + ⊂crown)⊂Ga 4 L 6 ] 11− +11 M + (M + = ⋅ =Li + , Na + , K + ; crown=[12]crown‐4, [15]crown‐5, [18]crown‐6, L=1,5‐bis(2,3‐dihydroxybenzamido)naphthalene, see picture). It forms by complexation of the metal cations with the crown ether and the complexation of the cation – crown ether complex formed into the tetrahedral [Ga 4 L 6 ] 12− cluster.
