Synthetic THF – gramicidin hybrids incorporated in membranes form cation‐selective ion channels. These were evident from the measurement of single channel currents through soybean lecithin membranes which contained these channel building blocks; a section of the measurement in 1 M KCl at a membrane potential of +100 mV is shown.
