The noncoordinating anion [B(C 6 F 5 ) 4 ] − solubilizes cations and polycations, allowing the generation and study of such systems in low‐dielectric media. Thus, when [NBu 4 ][B(C 6 F 5 ) 4 ] is used as a supporting electrolyte, cyclic voltammetry is possible in aliphatic ethers and other solvents of very low polarity.
