Iron–molybdenum cofactor and P‐cluster are two essential components of FeMo nitrogenases. A Mo 6 Fe 20 S 30 cluster has now been synthesized whose fragments topologically resemble the P‐cluster of nitrogenase. The new compound (see picture) was characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray structure analysis and Moessbauer spectroscopy.
