More and more metal complexes with terminal borylene ligands will be synthesized. Although these ligands in metal complexes must be stabilized either by integration of the boron atom into a polyhedral skeleton ( 1 ) or by B–N π interactions with a bulky amino group ( 2 ), the route to new complexes with terminal RB ligands (R=alkyl, aryl) is clearly indicated.
