The surprisingly facile preparation of (RGe) 2 (NH 2 ) 4 (NH) ( 1 ; R= i Pr 2 C 6 H 3 NSiMe 3 ), which contains one NH and four NH 2 groups, is achieved by the introduction of gaseous ammonia into a solution of i Pr 2 C 6 H 3 NSiMe 3 GeBr 3 in diethyl ether.
