The step‐wise reaction of the cationic complex [(tpa)Rh I (ethene)] + (tpa= N , N , N ‐tri(2‐pyridylmethyl)amine) with H 2 O 2 and NH 4 + /MeCN gives a metallacyclic amide [Eq. (a)]. This new mode of C−N bond formation from a coordinated olefin might offer new possibilities for transition metal catalyzed amidation of olefins.
