A metal&ararr; π *(carbene) charge‐transfer emission was observed for the first time in solution at room temperature for the title compound. This novel hexanuclear platinum macrocycle is formed by self‐assembly of six dicarbeneplatinum( II ) moieties and six cyanide ligands. The Pt centers occupy six corners of a cube, and the cyanide ligands constitute the edges (depicted schematically on the right; circles=[Pt(C 10 H 21 N 4 )], rectangles=CN)
