Two consecutive catalytic reactions , the oxidation of a primary alcohol by hydrogen transfer and the subsequent intermolecular hydroacylation in the presence of 2‐amino‐4‐methylpyridine (AMP), take place in a generally applicable one‐pot synthesis of ketones from primary alcohols and 1‐alkenes catalyzed by transition metals [Eq. (a)]; R = aryl, R′ = alkyl.
