Kinetics of Lewis base (LB) complexed primary and secondary σ‐alkyllithiums (RLi) with triphenylmethane (TPMH) are reported. Among the properties investigated are the effective reaction orders (see diagram), precomplexation and mechanism, and relative reactivities of tetrameric and dimeric RLis, both for primary and secondary R.
