The selective binding of cyclobisacridine ( CBA ) to DNA duplexes containing a stable analogue of the abasic site was demonstrated by T m , EPR, and photocleavage experiments. The abasic site recognition was evidenced by cleavage of an oligonucleotide containing an apurinic site.
