Known and unknown methyltitanium compounds such as [Ti(CH 3 ) 4 ], [Ti(CH 3 ) 5 ] − , [Ti 2 (CH 3 ) 9 ] − (structure shown), and [Ti(CH 3 ) x Cl 4− x ] ( x = 1–3) are prepared and structurally characterized. While all of these can be considered coordinatively and electronically highly unsaturated, no indication of intramolecular agostic hydrogen bonding is found.
