The electrochemical reduction of anti ‐ or syn ‐[Cr(CO) 3 (indenyl)Rh(cod)] follows an ECE process with a reversible modification (pictured here) of the indenyl hapticity as the chemical step; this rearrangement of the monoanion facilitates the second electron transfer, which illustrates the topochemical communication between the two coordination shells.
