Dramatic differences in magnetic and electrical properties of the isostructural compounds [(DT‐TTF) 2 M(mnt) 2 ] have been investigated. For M = Au, with a diamagnetic anion, the conductivity is activated and two‐legged spin‐ladder magnetic behaviour is observed. Paramagnetic anions (M = Pt (shown here), Ni) give two magnetic subsystems, formed by metallic DT‐TTF double stacks and the [M(mnt) 2 ] chains, that interact.
