Dithioethyne (OC) 5 ReC≡CRe(CO) 5 functions as an alkyne ligand in Cu I , Ag I , and Au I complexes to give bis(alkyne) complexes and dimetallatetrahedranes. The latter are bridged in 1 (R = Re(CO) 5 ) and 2 (R = SiMe 3 ) by difluorophosphate.
