A Cr–Cr quadruple bond is incorporated in a four‐membered Cr2CP ring in [{Li(thf)} 2 Cr 2 (CH 2 PMe 2 ) 6 ] ( 1 ). Complex 1 (depicted) reacts with tmeda without cleavage of the Cr–Cr bond to give the tmeda adducts [{Li(tmeda)} 2 Cr 2 (CH 2 PMe 2 ) 6 ] and [{Li 2 Cr 2 (CH 2 PMe 2 ) 6 (tmeda)} ∞ ], with chelating and bridging tmeda ligands, respectively.
