A rich diversity of Cp R Co complexes with “naked” P n ligands is obtained upon treatment of [Cp*Fe( η 5 ‐P 5 )] ( 1 ) with [Cp R Co(CO) 2 ], Cp R = C 5 H 4 t Bu, C 5 H 3 t Bu 2 ‐1,3. Besides the “triple decker” (shown right) with a planar CoP 4 middle deck, clusters with trigonal bipyramidal and cubanelike Co 3 P 2 , Co 4 P 4 , and FeCo 2 P 5 skeletons have been synthesized. The hitherto unknown μ 4 ‐ η 5 : η 2 : η 2 : η 1 ‐coordination mode of the cyclo‐P 5 ligand in the complex [{Cp*′FeP 5 }{Co 3 Cp 3 R (CO) 2 }] has been realised. The coordinative stabilization of PS and PSe ligands is described.
