Tetracyclic Arenes by Benzannulation of Tricyclic Carbene Complexes of Chromium with Alkynes: Chemo‐, Regio‐, and Stereoselectivity

The regio‐ and stereochemical selectivity of benzannulation reactions is investigated. The tricarbonyl chromium complexes 4 – 6 along with three tetracyclic arenes were obtained regioselectively and, in case of 5 , stereoselectively from the reactions of the tricyclic carbene complexes 1 – 3 with 1‐hexyne.
