Das Zusammenwirken von sterischer Hinderung und Reduktion durch das U III ‐Zentrum macht den Komplex [(C 5 Me 5 ) 3 U] zu einem formalen Dreielektronen‐Reduktionsmittel in seiner Reaktion mit C 8 H 8 . Es entsteht 1 [Gl. (1)], das einen verbrückenden, nichtplanaren C 8 H 8 2− ‐Liganden enthält.
