Pseudohalogeno Metal Compounds. LXXVI Molecular Structure of Tetrafulminatomercurate, [Hg(CNO) 4 ] 2– Crystals of [AsPh 4 ] 2 [Hg(CNO) 4 ] contain [AsPh 4 ] + cations and [Hg(CNO) 4 ] 2– anions. The tetrafulminatomercurate ion forms a slightly distorted tetrahedron with linear fulminate ligands. In the crystal the [Hg(CNO) 4 ] 2– anions are separated by the AsPh 4 + cations which explains the thermal stability of this compound.
