[MoN(NPPh 3 ) 3 ] – a Monomeric Nitrido Complex of Molybdenum [MoN(NPPh 3 ) 3 ] ( 1 ) has been prepared from [MoCl 3 (N 3 S 2 )] 2 and LiNPPh 3 in toluene suspension in good yields. From n‐hexane/dichloromethane solutions 1  · 2 CH 2 Cl 2 crystallizes as colourless single crystals, which were suitable for a crystal structure determination. 1 forms monomeric molecules with a Mo≡N distance of 166.6 pm for the nitrido ligand, which corresponds to a triple bond, and MoN‐bonds of 193.6 pm on average of the NPPh 3 – ‐ligands, corresponding to shortened single bonds.
