Although there have been changes in the government's defence management policy, companies in the defence sector will remain under the scrutiny of government agencies and Ministry of Defence appointed experts. The Corporate Intelligence Information Charter makes explicit the different levels and functions of intelligence gathering and management reporting within a defence oriented company, and provides a framework for establishing a corporate intelligence function. By having such a charter in place, individual personnel working for defence companies can be held accountable for their actions. Once in place, the charter should ensure that defence related companies operate within the context of a national security strategy. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
