A large scale study shows the importance of human resources (HR) issues in outsourcing and facility management. Success requires a new role for human resources officers of the selling organization. Human resources officers should be on the marketing and sales team. They should prepare the ground work for the transfer of employees. The role should cover the entire process. They must be able to work ‘inside’ the potential client. They should provide stewardship of the integration process and its ongoing maintenance. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
