Dialogues in strategy looks at some of the philosophical, epistemological and methodological issues associated with strategy. The paper argues that much strategy literature is impaired or faulty, and warns theorists and practitioners about the dangers of applying strategy theory unthinkingly. A more optimistic tone arises from the idea that strategic practice, including planning, provides managers with a sound source of organizational learning. The paper concludes by encouraging readers to join the Dialogue and thereby help improve strategic thinking, theory and practice.
