Three natural plant cytokinins inhibited lipid peroxidation in a dose‐dependent manner in rat kidney homogenates. Zeatin riboside possessed higher antioxidant activity with an IC 50 of 0.18 m M . These results suggest that cytokinins may play a role in preventing lipid peroxidation in living animal cells and may be referred to as chemopreventers.
