A methanol extract (MEII) obtained from the seeds of Ipomoea intrapilosa and its isolated crude alkaloid fraction (ALKII) were tested as possible blockers of the serotonergic response in the rat uterus in vitro . The results obtained showed an unsurmountable non‐selective inhibition of the contractile response induced by serotonin on isolated uterine smooth muscle.
