Keishi‐bukuryo‐gan, a traditional herbal medicine, is a representative drug for blood stagnation and an effective drug for brain disorders. Keishi‐bukuryo‐gan was shown to have inhibitory effects on lipid peroxidation of brain homogenate induced by the ferrous ion‐hydrogen peroxide system. This drug inhibited lipid peroxidation of brain homogenate in a concentration‐dependent manner. This effect was similar to that of DL ‐α‐tocopherol as an antioxidant.
