The glycoalkaloid solasonine and a new spirosten δ‐lactone saponin, foliumin A. characterized by NMR spectroscopy, MS and chemical methods as (22 S , 23 R , 25 R )‐3β,15α,23‐trihydroxyspirost‐5‐en‐26‐one 3‐ O ‐{α‐ L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐(1→2)‐[α‐ L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐(1→4)]‐β‐ D ‐glucopyranoside}, have been isolated from the ethanolic extract of the aerial parts of Solanum amygdalifolium .
