The stereochemistry of both the N , N ‐dimethyl amino acid and α‐amino acid residues, after hydrolysis of the peptide alkaloids scutianine‐B, ‐C, ‐D and ‐E, franganine and adoutine‐Y′ have been determined by gas chromatography employing modified cyclodextrins as chiral stationary phases.
