We consider a model of thermal dissipation for a Stefan–Boltzmann model of viscous and reactive gas in a bounded interval. We prove the existence of a global‐in‐time solution, and we give the asymptotic behaviour for the corresponding Dirichlet problem. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
