The boundary integral equation method is used to prove the convergence of the Drude–Born–Fedorov equations with variable coefficients, possibly non‐smooth, to Maxwell's equations as chirality admittance tends to zero. © 1998 by B. G. Teubner Stuttgart–John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
