In this paper the authors consider the initial boundary value problem of the ferromagnetic spin chain equation and prove the existence of the global attractor and finiteness of the Hausdorff and the fractal dimensions of the attractor. © 1997 B. G. Teubner Stuttgart–John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
