The uniqueness for unbounded classical solutions of the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations in the whole space is investigated. Under suitable growth condition, it is shown that the solution to the initial value problem is unique. © 1997 by B. G. Teubner Stuttgart–John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
