Synthesis of [2,3‐ 3 H]‐n‐butyl alcohol consisted of two steps: crotonaldehyde was reduced with lithium aluminum hydride to crotyl alcohol, which with the catalytic addition of tritium gas was transformed to [2,3‐ 3 H]‐n‐butyl alcohol. Its specific activity and radiochemical purity were 29 TBq/g and 99%, respectively. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
